Bylaws
Bylaws for FUKT valid from November 16, 2006
§ 1 Name, purpose, site
- FUKT is a
non-profit computer society at
Högskolan i
Karlskrona/RonnebyBlekinge Institute of
Technology. The society is politically and religiously
unassociated, and independent from the
university.
- The purpose of FUKT is to further the member’s
possibilities to hack.
definition of hack: To experiment with and explore complex systems
(most commonly computers) for fun. Results in hack.
The board shall have their
site in the Andomeda galaxy or wherever the board finds
suitable.
§ 2 Membership
- Every student och employee at
Högskolan i
Karlskrona/RonnebyBlekinge Institute of
Technology may become a member of FUKT. Membership can also be given to
others by board decision. Membership is also open for all who were
members of FUKT when studying at Högskolan i
Karlskrona/RonnebyBlekinge Institute of
Technology.
- If a member has seriously damaged the society, the board can
temporarily take away the member’s privileges. The next
membership meeting must discuss the case and decide if the
member’s privileges should be reinstated or if the member should
be expelled from the society.
- The board can appoint as
honorary members of FUKT such persons who have furthered FUKT’s purposes.
Honorary members have the same rights as other members of FUKT.
- All members, except
honorary members must pay the membership fee every year.
The amount is set by the yearly membership meeting.
- Exit from the society happens if:
- The member asks for it.
- The member does not pay the membership fee.
§ 3 The board
- The board consists of five or more board members of which one is
chairman, one is vice
chairman and one is accountant. The board has two
substitutes.
- The board and its positions are appointed by the yearly
membership meeting.
- The accountant, chairman, or the voting majority of the board
may sign for the society.
- The board may not decide on
salaries or other renumeraions for themselves.
§ 4 Meetings
- The society has two kinds of meetings; board meetings and
membership meetings.
- Anyone has the right to be present and speak at all
meetings.
§ 4.1 Membership Meetings
- Announcments of membership meetings must be sent at least 16 days
before the membership meeting takes place. Agenda must accompany
the announcments.
- Member proposals must be received at least 8 days before
the membership meeting takes place.
- A membership meeting can be demanded by the board or by 1/3 of
the members.
- FUKT shall have
at least two regular membership meetings; one in April or May,
and one in October or November. The latter is the yearly
membership meeting.
- At membership meetings all members present have one vote each.
All votes are equal. When voting simple majority applies if
nothing else has been said. In case of a tied vote the side
favored by the chairman carries.
§ 4.2 Board meetings
- The chairman shall call to a board meeting if a board member or
any chosen auditor requests it.

- For a board meeting to be
valid, a majority of the board,
and at least four
board members, must be
present.
§ 5 Miscellaneous
- The fiscal year is from the first of September to the last of
August.
- The accounting shall be
done according to contemporary methods in order to increase self
control.
- The membership year runs from the first of September to the last of
August.
January to the last of
December.
- To audit the society’s books, the yearly membership meeting will
appoint
two auditorsan auditor, who
once a year shall release a
reportcheck the
accounting.. The auditorsThe auditor
may not hold any other position in the society.
- Any change in these bylaws requires two decisions on two
separate consecutive membership meetings, with at least a month
of study period time between them.
- The society can only be dissolved if it is decided on two
consecutive membership meetings at least 6 months apart. The
society can not be dissolved if at least 20 members wants to
keep it. The request for dissolution must have accompanied the
meeting announcement for the decision to be valid. When the
society is dissolved, a steward organization shall be appointed,
which will hold the society’s assets. If a new computer society
has appeared within 2 years at
Högskolan i
Karlskrona/RonnebyBlekinge Institute of
Technology, and its bylaws are approved by the stewarding
organization, the assets shall be given to this computer
society, or else to computer societies in need.
