identd(8) identd(8) NAME linux-identd - Linux identification daemon SYNOPSIS identd [options] DESCRIPTION identd is a user identification daemon, which implements the Identification Protocol (RFC1413). This protocol is used to identify active TCP connections. The daemon lis tens to TCP port 113 (auth) and can be run either as a stand-alone daemon or through inetd(8). OPTIONS -d Run in daemon mode (i.e. without inetd). -l Log connections. -v Print version information and exit. -h Print help text and exit.
